How do you use heat-form snowboard boots?

I just got a pair of used Vans Hi-Standards from maybe 10 years ago. The person I got them from said they have heat-form liners. How do I heat them up properly to mold them to my feet?

Use a blow dryer and stick it in the boot for a couple of mins then do the same for the other. Put your feet in with think socks on and just lean forward for 8 mins and they should be good to go.

Easy Costume Ideas

Looking for some easy costume ideas for you next party, well I have some very popular ideas that you can use with maybe something spare in your closet, or maybe a quick trip to the goodwill or  thrift store and then you can make a few adjustments.

Homemade costumes don’t have to involve months of preparation and days of sewing. If you don’t have the money to spend on an expensive costume, or if you have ran out of time to put something together, simply take a look around your house. Chances are you have all that you need for a do it yourself costume, without spending a dime and here are some popular easy costume ideas for you.

French maids

Are generally considered very feminine with their frilly dresses & high heeled stilettos.

What you will need: black dress, small frilly apron, lace headpiece, black fishnets, stilettos & feather duster.

Dress alterations: use a V or round neck dress with sleeves, add gathered lace around neckline, sleeves and hemline by gluing or sewing.

Dracula’s

We have the image of seductiveness, darkness & mystique; however with this costume we have added a hint of sexiness.

You will need: black dress, bat or gothic style choker, black fishnets, black boots, long black wig with white stripe, fangs, blood & puncture marks – tattoos for neck (optional).

Dress alterations: use a black round or V neck black long sleeve short dress, cut the hemline and sleeves jaggedly.

Tip: Be careful not to alter the length too much, as you don’t want it shorter.

Cowboy/Cowgirl

 If you children already own cowboy or cowgirl boots and a hat, all you need to do is add some blue jeans and a long sleeve check top. If you child has a pony on a stick toy, even better. Parents may also be able to find some rope lying around that can be used as a lasso prop. For a farmer just try adding some hay inside shirt or pants pockets, and a fake pitchfork, rake or hoe as a prop.

Ghost.

 The whole ghost costume is played out, but you can reinvent it using two bed sheets instead of one. Cut eye holes in two sets of sheets and draw a mouth and nose on both, put them both on, tie a rope around your waist to keep the costume on and when people ask tell them you are a ghost dressed as a ghost

Scrubs

Scrubs make a great outfit for lounging around the house or relaxing in general. Try wearing most costumes after the actual holiday. For the most part, it’s not going to work. You’d look foolish and probably wouldn’t be comfortable. Go the smart route and choose scrubs for you’re costume this year.

Have you looked into Salomon boots? I heard they have a pretty low profile and are better for narrow feet. the boot i usually hear mentioned is the F20 or F22 but they use a speed lacing system and not a BOA. Do you really need BOA? If you’re having problems finding a good fit you might be wise to look at ALL boots and not just BOA boots.. that includes speed lacing, traditional laces, and whatever other technology is out there. I’m actually not a fan of BOA boots, I feel traditional laces are superior in all areas besides speed of entry. I went the BOA and speed lace route a couple seasons ago.. pressure points and i just didn’t feel secure in them. after that season i went back to the traditional laces. I know BOA is cool and all but come on.. is 5 minutes of putting a boot on really that big of a difference, especially when you’re sacrificing a good fit, which is probably the most important little aspect of a good day on the mountain.
